Built in 1900, the Amsterdam American Hotel is Amsterdam's most famous art nouveau hotel, directly located on the lively Leidseplein. From its classic exterior with tower to stained glass windows and wall paintings inside, art nouveau architectural and decorative features can be found even in its rooms. The 175 rooms were renovated in 2001 to suit the modern traveller's needs. The Grand Café America serves breakfast and dinner under its arched roof decorated with Tiffany lamps.
